Northern Industrial Tools Metal Timberjack - 3ft. Length Review
I ordered the timberjack with some trepidation - there were numerous reviews of the three different products (metal, wooden and fiber glass handled timber jacks) and all reviews seemed to be bad.
For this is unexpectedly substantial. The logs that I have been positioning are mostly small, in the 8-12" diameter range. Handle is heavy gauge steel, I did not feel that it was likely to bend even if used for larger logs. (Product claims 14" limit, which is probably realistic.)
Minor assembly is required. Packaging was falling apart by the time item arrived, but all parts were present. NIT should do a better job of securing the shipping box's ends. Lifts logs off the ground for effective chain saw cutting. Rigid stand removes for Cant Dog work. Strong steel handle disassembles for easier transport.
